The Marketing of Sustainability: Built in Public and the Power of Evergreen


 

The Year of the Marketing Fit (2025)

The year 2025 marked a turning point in my marketing approach. After cutting 80% of my clientele to focus on depth and profitability, I had to ensure my content attracted clients aligned with this new philosophy.

My marketing success relies on the synergy of two strategies, launched in the spring and at the end of the year: Built in Public and Evergreen Marketing.

1. Built in Public (BIP): The Authenticity Filter

I started Building in Public (BIP) in the spring of 2025. This strategy is the perfect antidote to aggressive marketing:

  • Authenticity as EEAT: BIP provides the most valuable raw material: lived experience. I share my challenges and philosophy. This is what builds Trust (EEAT) and differentiates me from AI-generated content.

  • The Filter: BIP is a call for applications without the urgency. Clients who recognize themselves in this vulnerability and frankness are the most aligned.

2. Evergreen Marketing: The Engine of Longevity

BIP is great for unique content, but it's time-consuming. I therefore launched the Evergreen strategy at the end of 2025.

  • INTP Optimization: Evergreen is the most logical application of my INTP profile. Why write an article on an ephemeral topic when a good article on the Feynman Method or Anti-Goals remains relevant for 5 years?

  • Maximizing Energy: Evergreen content allows me to be the "Efficient Turtle." I do the deep thinking work once (often on weekends, in waves of intensity), and that content works for me 24/7. This is building a durability system—the opposite of ephemeral 30-day challenges.

The Synergy: Durable Authenticity

The secret to my success in 2025 is that these two strategies feed into each other:

  • BIP provides the true stories (the raw material).

  • Evergreen Marketing ensures these stories continue to generate trust and traffic for years.

My marketing success isn't about attracting the most people, but about building a sustainable system that attracts the right people, even when I'm in asynchronous mode.
